Elipson AV-Planet L (Pair)

New features include higher-quality crossover components as well as oxygen-free copper internal wiring. The bass is designed to have more energy and impact. While the treble has more detail. This quality two-way speaker has a built-in Class D amplifier. The maximum output is 80 watts. Lastly, the frequency range is wide extending up to 20kHz.

New crossover components

The crossover in the Elipson Planet L Gold Series Speakers has been upgraded with better-performing components. The crossover splits the audio into bands and is used to feed the correct frequencies to each driver. The components must be of a high quality. This gives the unit a long life and a flat frequency response.

The crossover is made up of filters that use capacitors, inductors, and resistors. In the Elipson Planet L Gold Series Speakers, the capacitors have been upgraded to Serial metalized polypropylene foil types with a 250 V rating. Moreover, the resistors are now high-precision metal oxide.

Class D amplifier

Most active speakers use Class D amplifiers these are almost 90% efficient and generate less heat. Whereas traditional Class A/B amplifiers need more power for a given output. The Class D system uses a series of high-frequency pulses to generate the audio. The pulses are modulated by using Pulse Width Modulation (PWM). The closer together the pulses are the higher the output. Lastly, the output transistors are often fast Switching MOSFET types.

Coaxial bass/ midrange driver

The design of the Elipson Planet L Gold Series Speakers includes a coaxial bass midrange driver. This is a special type of unit where two drivers are placed over each other. This saves space and gives a more integrated sound. The main driver is 17CM in diameter with a central 25mm dome tweeter. Coaxial speakers have a wider field of listening than speakers where the drivers are separate.
